Yeah, my grandma chopped off chickens' heads in preparation for Sunday dinner. She didn't use the clothesline method; she put the chicken's neck on the chop block. To keep the headless chicken from flopping around, we threw a bushel basket over it.
As I grew older, I made pets out of the chickens and couldn't bear to kill and eat them.
