Gross them out, and they'll leave

gipsydreamer's post about Jehovah's Witnesses reminded me of an encounter I had with them many years ago. I was getting ready to leave for work and let them in the house before I realized that they were on a mission to save my soul. Because they were polite, I didn't want to physically remove them, but they just wouldn't leave, and I was going to be late. My cat, Smoke, came to the rescue. She jumped up on the coffee table and noisily coughed up a huge, disgusting hairball. Gagging, my visitors ran for the door. Their spirits were willing, but their bodies couldn't take any more.

Haven't seen one since we moved thankfully. I used to just yell for one of the kids to get my ax.

There's always good old fashioned blasphemy.

I had Mormons coming to my door all the time...then one year around Christmas when they were just so sure I had been lying to them about not believing in God one of them asked why I had a Christmas tree. But I am too fast thinking for that. I said I didn't like getting into religious discussion with people because of the looks I get. Confused one of the young men said 'what do you mean?' 'Well, I am a witch you see....that is my solstice tree. Now, if you don't mind, please leave me alone...You interrupted my annual sacrifice ritual to The Goddess" Then I closed the door. I have not seen another Mormon since.

Really, I only have a Christmas tree cause I like the pretty lights...LOL
