Beautiful colors and shades. What size is it?

Big-the plant gets 6-8 ft tall before pulling down the stakes each year. The blooms are in the 6-7 inch range. If it was properly pruned, the blossoms would be dinnerplates, but I prefer having more blooms over fewer gigantic ones.

Bonus: No 2 blossoms are identical, and the colors change with the weather.

Very yummy. I'm with you, those dinnerplate size dahlias need to be individually supported.

I'm going to use bigger stakes on this one next year. Then again, I used bigger stakes this year than last, and Big Orange was too much for them.

I really love this dahlia! Do you remember the name of it?
Thanks for posting the pic!

My brother calls it "Kudzilla" because it's impossible to keep it in bounds or stake it so that it doesn't fall over. I wish that I did know the name. Momma bought it years ago and has long since forgotten what it was called.

I do like a vigorous plant in the garden. I enjoyed seeing the subtle play of color of these flowers in the pic's.

Last year's Chickfest took place at G.O.'s digs out west, a famous salon.
