Great song, as are a number of others of his. I was always amazed that the country community actually accepted him when they wouldn't accept people like Lyle Lovett and k.d. lang (well, I think I know why they didn't accept her but they missed out on one of the truly great voices...one of the few that could rival Patsy Cline).

I remember the first time I heard KD Lang sing on TV and thinking what a truly fantastic singing career she was going to have.
Problem was she talked about being a vegetarian and how she wouldn't even wear leather after she sang. I winced when I heard her say that because 99% of the country music lovers in this country are involved with meat production somehow or other and I knew she'd have major trouble being accepted.
It's such a shame too. She is one of the few people I know of that might possibly be able to match Aretha Franklin for singing ability.
:]

We think alike! I tried to post k.d. lang's "Constant Craving" right after this, but encountered some problems.
Ironically, after Patsy's death, there were rumors about her sexuality, not that it matters.

Great voice and song. 'Appears that, miles from nowhere, there's still darngood laundry service. He's not so bedraggled as might be due.
Re: Lyle Lovett and k.d. lang - whose songs I always appreciate - you'd think that the spiirt of freedom in the fans would out class the politics of ranching for meat production! It wouldn't be much of a stretch, partners! You don' see me givin' up BBQ! (Although you might see a little less of me if I did - as I have lately ): )

Lol-now that you mention it, he looks pretty good for a railroad bum. Maybe he got the duds off a clothesline.
