Around here, it's a pretty good-sized creek: Elk Creek. That's the Millseed Mt. in the background. This was taken from the bridge below my house.

People from other states tend to make fun of what we call rivers and creeks. I've seen creeks larger than our rivers and brooks larger than our creeks. People forget that we're at the beginning of the watershed, so naturally there aren't any humongous streams.

Suburban NJ likes to go the other way and calls most moving bodies of water "creeks" since its sounds more charming.
